I wasn’t really thinking about the date. Right now everyone will be writing pieces on 5 years since lockdown and when we began to realise the seriousness of Covid.
But then on X ,I saw the wonderful Sonia Sodha had posted this.
It was just over five years ago that
wrote this column for the Guardian. I happened to reread it this morning, every paragraph remains as salient as it was then, and how prescient it turned out to be.
