As soon as the news broke that the bodies of Emma Pattison, her husband George and their seven year-old daughter Lettie had been found, speculation started. Emma was Epsom College’s first female headteacher, appointed less than six months ago and held in great affection by pupils and staff alike. A lot was made of the crime scene being a prestigious private school in Surrey with annual fees of £42,000-plus. Famous ex-pupils were named.
