I interviewed Sall when she was over here a while ago. She says Australia is in the same place Canada is when it comes to women’s rights. The difference she says is that Canada is cold.

Sall Grover laughs easily and often at the name of a court case that has turned her life upside down, Tickle v Giggle, saying “ I know it’s ridiculous!” In 2020 this enterprising young woman set up a women-only social media app, Giggle for Girls.
“We tried to think of any reason why a woman would want a little corner of the internet that was female only. So, you could find roommates and freelance work. There was lesbian dating, there was travel. Or if you want to find accommodation, a travel companion, or to talk about pregnancy or menopause you could find support.”
Though this was a digital platform for women only, it was inevitably flooded by thousands of men.
“I knew that there was a demographic of men who the moment you told them they couldn’t do something, they would try. So we had to have gatekeeping to make sure men couldn’t be in there.”
