Breasts. What are they good for?

The first mastectomy scar that I ever saw was that of the writer Kathy Acker. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer she chose to have both breasts removed, not just one, and cancer cells were found in her lymph nodes. I saw the long scar through the white gauze top that she wore when we went out for a drink one night. She did not hide it.
